Working from our forge in Kent, we combine traditional blacksmithing and hand-forged detailing with contemporary design and modern fabrication, often bringing steel and bronze together with materials such as timber, stone and glass.

Every commission begins with an idea, whether developing a completely original piece or creating something to complement an existing interior. From initial sketches and material selection through to forging, fabrication and finishing, each piece is carefully considered and made to last.

Arts and Crafts mirror 2025

This decorative mirror features an intricate hand-forged steel frame, created using traditional blacksmithing techniques. Flowing scrollwork surrounds the glass, with carefully forged details introducing warmth and contrast against the dark steel. The organic, asymmetric character of the metalwork gives the mirror a sculptural quality while retaining an elegant and functional design. Individually designed and handcrafted, the piece demonstrates how bespoke forged metalwork can transform an everyday interior object into a distinctive architectural feature, combining traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary approach to design.

Live-Edge Console Table – 2024

This bespoke live-edge console table was one of the more interesting design challenges of 2024. I was approached by a returning client who wanted to create a unique piece of furniture around a particularly striking piece of hardwood.

With no flat or level surface on the underside of the timber, the forged steel base needed to support the top securely at a precise finished height while accommodating its naturally irregular form.

Rather than introducing straight lines that would contrast with the organic live edge, I designed a series of intersecting curves to complement the shape and character of the timber. These flowing elements were formed in forged steel, creating a sculptural base that works naturally with the hardwood top.

The finished piece combines traditional blacksmithing, contemporary design and natural timber to create a distinctive, one-off console table designed specifically around the material.

Twinned Scroll Curtain Poles – The Ferry Inn, Stone, Kent

Created in 2024, these bespoke hand-forged steel curtain poles were designed and made for the newly extended restaurant at The Ferry Inn in Stone, Kent.

The twinned scroll design was developed to complement the existing character of the restaurant, where natural materials, organic forms and warm, earthy tones feature throughout the interior.

Using traditional blacksmithing techniques, the decorative scroll ends give the curtain poles a distinctive handcrafted character while remaining practical and understated. The finished pieces demonstrate how bespoke interior metalwork can be designed specifically for its surroundings, creating functional details that feel naturally integrated into the wider interior.

Grasp Shelves – 2016

Materials: Forged Steel and Hardwood

The Grasp Shelves marked my first exploration into bespoke furniture and interior design. Created in 2016 as the final piece of my Artist Blacksmithing degree at Hereford College of Arts, the project received several awards recognising its design, craftsmanship and creativity.

The concept was to create a modular and adjustable shelving system that could be adapted to suit different spaces and requirements. Hand-forged steel supports securely hold the hardwood shelves while allowing the arrangement to be altered as needed.

Combining traditional blacksmithing, contemporary furniture design and natural timber, the Grasp Shelves demonstrate how forged steel can be used to create functional, versatile and distinctive furniture for modern interiors.

Riveted Fire Hood – 2024

I was approached by a returning client to help resolve a fireplace that was no longer drawing effectively and required replacement. The challenge was to create a functional solution that also complemented the character and existing interior of the property.

We developed a bespoke riveted steel fire hood with gently curved sides, designed to help guide smoke efficiently towards the chimney while reflecting the traditional detailing found elsewhere in the house.

Combining traditional metalwork, riveted construction and considered design, the finished fire hood has improved the chimney draw and allows the fire to burn cleanly, while creating a distinctive and practical feature within the fireplace.

Ridge Lamps – Central London, 2018

Material: Forged and Patinated Steel

Created for a client in Central London, the Ridge Lamps are a series of bespoke forged steel lights designed to provide subtle mood lighting within a contemporary gallery space.

Each lamp was forged from repurposed heavy industrial steel sections, transforming the original material into a striking piece of sculptural interior lighting. Individual compositions and patinated finishes were developed for each set, allowing the lamps to complement the artworks and objects displayed alongside them.

Concealed LED strip lighting mounted to the rear creates a soft wash of indirect light, emphasising the forged surfaces and distinctive patina. Combining traditional blacksmithing with contemporary lighting design, the Ridge Lamps demonstrate the potential of forged steel as both a functional and sculptural material within modern interiors.

Stone-Topped Table – Battersea, London, 2020

Materials: Steel and Marble

This bespoke steel and marble table was created for a client in Battersea, London, around a beautiful piece of marble purchased from Sotheby’s.

The aim was deliberately simple: to design a minimal steel base that would support the stone without competing with its natural colour, pattern and character. Rather than introducing unnecessary decorative details, the understated steel frame allows the marble to remain the focal point of the piece.

The finished table combines bespoke metalwork, contemporary furniture design and natural stone, demonstrating how a carefully considered steel structure can complement and showcase an exceptional material.

Bespoke Steel Log Store – Kingsnorth, Ashford, 2023

This bespoke steel log store was designed and made for a returning client in Kingsnorth, near Ashford, Kent, providing a practical and attractive way to store firewood.

Rather than treating the log store as a purely functional object, the design was carefully considered to complement its surroundings while providing plenty of space for keeping logs organised and ready for use.

The finished piece combines contemporary design, bespoke metalwork and durable steel construction, creating a distinctive feature that demonstrates how even practical storage can be individually designed and made to suit its setting.
