Spiral Handrails – Biddenden, Kent, 2022

These bespoke hand-forged steel handrails were made and installed for a property in Biddenden, Kent, while undertaking contract work for Michael Hart.

The flowing spiral details at the ends of the handrails were designed to soften the appearance of the steelwork and create a more organic form that complements the surrounding flowerbeds and garden.

Combining traditional blacksmithing with a simple, functional design, the finished exterior handrails provide practical support while sitting naturally within the landscaped setting. The decorative forged spirals add character without overwhelming the surrounding architecture and planting.

Scrolled Handrail – Brenchley, Kent, 2022

This bespoke hand-forged steel handrail was created for a garden in Brenchley, Kent, while undertaking contract work for Michael Hart.

The design draws on traditional blacksmithing techniques, incorporating forged details including bolt-end, ribbon and snub-end scrolls. Riveted and collared joints were used throughout the construction, celebrating traditional methods of joining steel while giving the finished handrail a strong sense of craftsmanship and character.

Designed to provide practical support while complementing its garden setting, the finished piece combines traditional forged ironwork with elegant decorative detailing, creating a substantial exterior handrail with a timeless appearance.

Holiday Cottage Handrails – Harrietsham, Kent, 2023

These bespoke galvanised steel handrails were designed and made for a newly completed holiday cottage in Harrietsham, Kent, providing guests with safe and comfortable access to the property.

The handrails feature simple hand-forged scroll ends, adding a traditional decorative detail while maintaining a clean and understated appearance. A galvanised finish provides durable, long-lasting protection from the elements, making the handrails particularly suitable for exterior use.

Sleeper Spiral Handrail – Rye, East Sussex, 2023

This bespoke galvanised steel handrail was designed and made for a landscaped garden in Rye, East Sussex, providing additional support and safer access along a steep flight of outdoor steps.

The handrail is made in round section which gives the functional steelwork a softer, more decorative character that complements the surrounding garden.

Finished with a galvanised coating, the handrail is protected against corrosion and designed for long-term exterior use. Over time, the galvanised surface will weather naturally while continuing to protect the steel beneath, creating a durable piece of bespoke exterior metalwork designed specifically for its setting.

Blamey Handrail – Appledore, Kent, 2023

This bespoke steel handrail was designed and installed for a property in Appledore, Kent, providing additional support and safer access to the home, particularly during wet and icy winter conditions.

Simple and understated, the handrail was designed to provide a secure and comfortable handhold without dominating the entrance or surrounding architecture.
